Haven't played that much of the single player. It seems very mass effect though. Multiplayer is as expected as well. Although it does seem harder than me3. There's only 5 maps as well, but that will increase with (probably free) dlc. I'll still be paying for the game when it's released anyway.

Not that impressed,I might skip this one. Know what you mean but all mass effect games are like this at first. I'm hoping that the story evolves like it usually does. I'll be trying not to see spoilers from now on.

I would take all reviews with a large pinch of salt. Depending on whos review you watch or read it varys wildly. Some are saying different things that I don't know who to believe so I'll just have to play it to judge myself. Its currently in the 70's on metacritic for all 3 platforms so its not a bad game. It just released without enough polish and bugs fixed like most games nowadays. There are a lot of positives to the game that I've seen. Yes I watched some gameplay and spoiled some it but I wanted to see what the fuss was about facial animations. Yes there are a few instances of dodgy faces but nothing that I would consider game breaking. The game is essentially a mass effect game set in another galaxy with alot of new mechanics. The most interesting ones to me are the freedom of movement with the jetpack, solid combat, mix and match skills from biotics, tech, and combat, swap out your skills during combat and respec your ability points. There are several worlds to explore that are visually different from each other and lots of quests to do that it will take 50-100 hours to complete. It's got the star trek vibe about it, to seek out new life and new civilisations. If thats your sort of thing then you will like this game and if you loved the original trilogy I don't see how you can be disappointed with it. On the bad side I'm seeing alot of reports of bad frames rates and hitching, texture pop in, quest bugs and of course dodgy animations on PS4 which is worrying for me, as I can't stand for issues like that on a new game I just bought and was looking forward to. I wish developers would at least release the game in a satisfactory state. As long as it doesn't crash every 5 minutes and I don't encounter any game breaking bugs I'm ok with the occasional frame drops and hitching. Lets hope they fix these issues sooner than later. Knowing Bioware its later. On the plus side my game has dispatched from simplygames and I might be playing it tomorrow. I'll let you know if its the turd there making it out to be.

I got the game yesterday and here are my first impressions. First of all the hate this game is getting is unwarranted. Its been getting a hammering on metacritic. If you read some of them, they clearly have not played the game nor do they intend to. They are posting fake reviews because of some political bullshit with EA/Bioware and how ME3's ending ruined their life's. Anyway back to my impressions. Yes the facial animations are a little weird sometimes. They range from natural to whats up with their eyes and mouth. What I've played so far about 2 hours, I've seen maybe two weird animations that didn't look right to me. The Addison npc has a weird stare and when your character Ryder wakes up in a cut scene. Its nothing I am bothered about or care about. It gave me a laugh though. Voice acting is not bad generally. Just the Addison NPC is a little off. The delivery of some lines when you first talk to her are laughable. That made me chuckle. I'd say its more to do with the dialogue than anything the voice actor said. She actually said my "My face is tired". I think this has become a meme what ever that is lol. Graphics are out of this world literally. The graphics are in Uncharted 4, The Witcher 3 and Horizon class in my opinion. One of the best looking game on PS4. Character creator is visually ok but there are not enough options to shape the face you want. You can only change the presets and not the default Ryder faces. I spent about a half an hour fiddling with it to create my Ryder as I don't like the default ones. They seem too young to me to be in charge of the fate of several species of people. The new jet pack thats been added to this game gives you more freedom to get the better of the enemy and jump up to places you normally can't get to and is fun to use. You'll feel like buzz lightyear lol. Gun play is great and a improvement over previous games. The controls are perfect too. Its more like mass effect 1 but more freedom of movement. The sound of the gun makes the guns feel great to fire. They feel powerful. Sound design and music is amazing and gives the game a great sense of danger and excitement. They have excelled in this department. All dialogue is audibile even in the hectic parts. I played it with my Sony gold headset and the surround effects made me jump a few times. I was using the Adept class to begin with because i wanted a Jedi type character and I always liked using biotic powers in the previous games. The biotic powers in this game are very satisfying to use. I've only used the starter throw ability and I was throwing the aliens up in the air and then my team mate would combo them with grenades. I can't wait to see what the other powers are like. I love that NPC's use their powers and weapons with yours to do combo attacks. This is a major change from the previous games. You don't need to give them orders any more. Which is just as well since fire fights get pretty hectic. Overall this game has me hooked and the depth of the game will keep me busy for a long while. I haven't tried the multiplayer yet but from what I've seen it looks like Mass Effect 3's multiplayer but with more depth to it. Its a definite buy if you like third person shooters with in depth rpg mechanics. Dare I say its what Destiny should have been.

Any downside to not having played through the previous two? No, the only connection to the other games is the characters are from the milky way galaxy. The game is set in the future.

Bahamut, you are joking about the graphics? I take it your judging it by watching a video? Well if you see it in person on a big TV the graphics are very detailed especially on the planets. It will probably look even better on the pro in 4k. Yes I have played UC4 but not Horizon but I've tried it on a mates 4k TV and it looks stunning.
