First impressions: quite average and very derivative so far. I'm probably the millionth to say this, but it's very Far Cry - which is a game I was never that keen on (apart from the mp mapmaking in the first one). As predicted, I've had to sit through endless badly scripted and acted talktalks with cookie-cutter animations. HUD seems very cluttered and at odds with the primitive earth setting - I know it's customisable, but still. There's no need to have every single interactable thing have a golf flag sticking out of it. Not leading me by the nose, not at all.
Her Beverly Hills voice is a severe irritation, in fact they're all just too American. I changed the language to Polski, which instantly makes her sound better, but sadly doesn't shut the bint up. I set talk audio to zero which does the trick wonderfully and instantly makes the game a tad better. Only thing is, now all the cut scene talktalks are silent. How hard would it have been to have a toggle for in-game muttering?
On the plus side: combat looks fun and the machines look great. Actually, I think that's about it for the plus side. I couldn't give a monkeys about whatever the story is.
Well, okay then - yes, it does look very pretty.

After several hours of being led from one cut scene to the next to endure endless talking, I've had enough. I thought this was an action game, but that's about 10% of the time I've spent with it. How on earth this gets high review scores is a mystery.
Oh, I forgot. It looks pretty.

I like it, im finding my own action in between quest markers, it doesn't really get going until after the proving cermoney where there is a lot of dialogue but it sets the scene for what's to come, I had my first experience with a longneck this afternoon that gave me one of those gaming moments I won't forget for a long time.
It's all a bit scripted though, for instance the tribe people don't acknowledge the fact I'm riding a machine something that should be totally alien to them, but im intreged with the story, if it had been put together as a film I'd probably pay to watch it.

Well, I finally got hours of scripted shite out of the way and have been granted some time to actually go out and do things. Enduring that was a hard slog though. I'll see how long it is before they all start yakking again.
What annoys me about the interactive talking (where you get to choose her response) is it's all talking for the sake of it. The outcome is always the same no matter what option you take. You find someone bleating in the wilds because they've lost a brother/kid/beach ball or whatever and all the dialogue needs to be is 'I'll go find it'. But you're invited to talk about loads of irrelevant shite first. Now that I've sussed that, I don't even need to read the dialogue - just quit out of the encounter straight away, the result is the same.
Shame really, because once you're free of the script it's actually quite good fun.

There I was assuming conversation made a difference, I’m sure something popped up saying as such the first time you get to choose, so far though I’ve not seen anything to indicate that it does, actually quite the opposite, as I trawl through every bit of text I’m getting some silly inconsistency’s like being told by several people that someone is related to someone else then Aloy acting as if it was news to her each time.
Not game braking by any stretch but it takes me out of my immersion, reminding me I’m a fat bloke on a couch and not a buxom ginger wench.

You a lardarse? You don't sound fat. I am an Adonis, I was simply using the term fat bloke for comedy effect.

if you get the heart, mind or aggressive prompt it does make difference further down the story, like if you hit the young lad at the beginning he reacts differently when u meet him again later down the line

Without giving anything away I would have liked the chance to rub his nose in the dirt a bit more.

Yeah I chose the same and wish I would have aimed for the face after that second encounter

While this could be threatening RDR for my all time favourite spot, one thing is ruining it for me… INDORE WEATHER!! How has this not been patched out?? I can stand under a roof and get snowed on, and stand in a room of a completely enclosed building and get heavy rain complete with the drab colour change and drips running off Aloy’s face. Inexcusable!

Is she not just a bit sweaty? She's quite an active little tyke. I bet she stinks.
What's inexcusable is the tedious cut scenes that almost stop you playing in the first few hours. Actually, I have stopped playing, but that's because of Bloodborne.

Not noticed this at all, and no one on Reddit has mentioned it either and they are normally the first to complain!! maybe the last patch broke it have you tried rolling back see if it helps?
