I confess I don’t know much about Dauntless so may be jumping the gun here, it's a hub world with 4 player co-op, however from what I gather it’s fully cross-platform for PS4, Xbox 1, & PC, saves our server side so you can login and continue from any platform, and using your in game account you can then find friends, make clans and mic chat etc.
Still in beta so work in progress but free to download so nothing to lose.

I downloaded it a couple of days ago but couldn't get any further than the character creation bit. Every time I've tried to get in since the servers have always been full.

I want to use Console and laptop so I tried linking accounts with PS4 but it just gave me an error, Xbox at least gave me a code to link, but I stopped there as I wanted to get the laptop up and running.
I got the tutorial done and ended up in the hub town, other players were wondering around a few had Xbox symbols so I think its luck of the draw until the early teething problems get sorted.
However the short tutorial left me wanting more so that’s a good sign.

Consoles have been stuck in the dark ages for ages, whereas on phones and tablets you can pick up and play from any device without losing progress, it shouldn’t really blow my mind that on this I can log out of my laptop and pick up from where I left off on either console, but hear I am mind blown. Games a bit lumpy in town but at least I had no problems getting on work in progress I think, they got Fortnight running smoothly with 99 players so I can’t see why they won’t be able to sort it.
It Runs better with a 3 others on a hunt, my main complaint it there doesn’t appear to be a lock on it’s easy to get turned around in battle so end up swinging at nothing, and once the hunt is over you just get a screen showing your rank, no nice team shot like 19 year old PSO!! Don't know how much I'll get out of it though depends if the gear grind becomes addictive and how long it takes for the hack n slash to becomes old, I can see it would be more fun with chums and at least I can use a laptop so able to be about at more sociable hours. My Epic id is Visage01 but if on console I think you can use normal friend search.
Oh I forgot, when you get an achievement/trophy on one console when you log onto the other the achievement/trophy will pop.

I've done a couple of hours. Sort of like it. Finishing the hunt and just being dumped back in town is a bit of a let down. I'm away for a week but will probably put a few more hours in when I'm back.

I had a look and got as far as the town to pick up quests. Doubt my progress will be there as I don't have an Epic ID. It looked alright, but if it is only 'kill behemoths to get gear to kill better behemoths' then I don't think it would hold my attention long.
Then again, I'm finding it hard to get enthusiastic about any games. Haven't even looked at RDR2. If I'm tired of gaming, is it true that I'm tired of life?

So it's not just me, nothing holds my attention these days.
TBH I don't know what this one has to offer yet I've not played enough, bashing monsters and upgrading gear used to hold my attention, but I think it was the idea of everyone being able to get into the same game that caught my attention, that and it's free.
Your save will still be there you only need an epic Id to link other systems, and perhaps getting hold of me if I'm on the laptop.

It looks like u both have Epic id's I can see a console tag and an epic one so I've sent a friend's request to the epic ones Im guessing that's how people find each other across platforms.
I've kinda got caught up in the one more battle for another upgrade thing, so I guess it's I'm enjoying it.

Still playing this and can confirm it's exactly like that, and yes I am addicted, damn this shallow game that has now led me up the deep end.
