I sold mine to fund/make room for ps4. Then got a nostalgia attack and bought an original 60gb fat for the backwards compatibility, doesn't get a load of use due to time but it's nice to bust out some old school silent hill, legacy of Kain and kingdom hearts from time to time. Its also great for more free games from plus! I am hoping when Playstation Now comes over to Europe it wont take long for them to put up ps1 and ps2 games to stream.

The prices for Playstation Now BETA have dropped, but initially they were obscene.
However I don't get to play that much so if I am expected to pay $8.99 a week (which will be £8.99 knowing how pricing works!), I may as well buy it as I'm bound to be able to pick it up for less and I already have a PS3.
Now if they did a PSN+ style £40 for the year, now you are talking ....

I wouldnt use it for ps3 games as as you say its cheaper just to buy them used. But later on it will be a handy service for ps1 and ps2 games.

Actually its the controller that puts me off, I never have liked it, but now thanks to an update you can use the ds4 wireless on most games, not tried it yet though. Im not a big fan of any PS controller much prefer an xbox 360 or xboxone controller. I only set it up yesterday but it works pretty well, the only issue being the PS button doesn't work so you still have to keep a DS3 to get back to the XMB to quit out of a game! I think the DS4 is a great controller but the triggers on xbox have always been better.

I am sceptical about PSNow, think the pricing is going to put me off. A Netflix style monthly sub might be an option, but the trouble will be Playstation balancing that. It's realistically going to be £10 plus a month if they did it that way, which for some won't be worth it, but I can't see me renting a game for a week but would be tempted to sub.

Yes I'm still playing on mine, hooked it up again not so long ago for a play on GTA5 (lots of updates), still a decent machine. My mate has leant me Dragon's Dogma, quite a fun little game.

I also have Call of Suarez Gunslinger, Ico and SoTC, and a bunch of other games that i still intend to play.
Like these ones: Dead Rising Off The Record Final Fantasy XIII / XIII-2 Infamous Undead Nightmare

Mines plugged and ready to go but I always pick up the ds4 instead, I’ve considering moving it to another room so when I can’t get on the main tv I’ll fall back to the PS3, I’ve so many games thanks to PS + and not junk either.
If I did away with the ps4 I’ve got at least a couple of years worth of games to work through.

I think i'll have to dust it off and finish some games that are still on it before I sell it. Its a great console but with most games now produced and remastered for PS4 I don't see the point in keeping it. The PS4 is priority at the moment with Uncharted plus Fallout 4 and Battlefront coming next month. By the way Chris you can use the DS4 on the PS3. Heres how to use it wirelessly Link
