If this is another paid expansion I may have to pass too. Destiny has become too repetitive and PVP focused. Sad to say as I enjoy being in the clan. I'm currently giving ESO a try on the PC so this might take up most of my free time.

Tbh I am struggling to see how it is becoming more PVP focused in the taken king.
House of wolves definitely leaned towards pvp more than previously. But TTK is only introducing two crucible modes. Not special events or anything. Just things that rotate out like salvage.
TTK is looking massively story based with a huge raid planned. I know a lot more people have started playing more pvp, myself included. But that's because all current content has been played a lot!

I agree, I always feel there's been plenty content for both types of players in the DLC's. Naturally the content gets repetitive and is easily completed within a single day... If you have no life like me at the moment! But the Taken King is bringing new subclasses, different planets and bounties! Surely it's not SO PVP sided it will throw people off.
AND STILL!
Those two new PVP games look awesome! WHO WOULND"T WANT TO DUNK A GLOWING LIGHT LIKE MICHAEL JORDAN WHILE BEING SHOT AT!
It looks glorious to me! But, everyone has opinions and tastes!

I think there are more than 2 types of player, and it's not just pyp and pve. I'm the third one that doesn't always feel comfortable grouping up and I don't like being forced to. That's why forcing matchmaking onto the heroic strikes was the beginning of the decline for me. That a game is always online doesn't mean you should lose out if you aren't happy grouping with strangers. This is the only online multiplayer game I've played which penalises solo play. And if you think it doesn't, try upgrading all your gear without it.

My main problem is Destiny is too repetitive. It's a great game but not enough of a world to explore. I just can't see a lot more content being added. I'm definitely interested in the new expansion of it adds more locations, a decent new raid and more things to do.

Just watched the IGN interview with DEEJ, interesting stuff, looking forward to the twitch previews. The clips at the end of the WE ARE GUARDIANS trailer look pretty epic!

I think Deej said a few interesting things. It certainly looks like they are going to make it easier for people to get their characters playable for year 2 (so, maybe Andy will get round to using his Titan, assuming he comes back into the Destiny drug). And I think the phase out of year one legendaries is now inevitable - though I think that there is an implication that year one exotics will be able to be used (given how he was talking about Truth) - which suggests an upgrade path for them. And why would they bother nerfing Gjallahorn if it wasn't going to get an attack upgrade path? As for buying it - well, I think the UK prices are too high. Yes, I've got a lot of game play out of it, but that doesn't give Bungie/Activision an excuse to screw us more than other countries. Because, people in other countries have got a lot of play out of it as well. $80 is a reasonable price for the physical collectors edition; $60 is a reasonable price foe the legendary edition. I reckon the CE digital should be $70, and the collectors edition expansion should be $10 (not $20). I think (given what I've seen) $40 is just about acceptable for the DLC TTK - definitely upper end, but, OK. I don't think turning a "$" symbol into a "£" symbol is OK, though. £40 for the TTK DLC is outrageous. For those who aren't going to buy TTK CE, go to deals.simplygames.com/p/destiny-the-taken-king-ps4 and order TTK LE for £34.85 (yes, the LE is £5.14 than the expansion DLC). Offer ends 9th August.
