Are the mods easy to install?
I'd love to get rid if the timers, ruining my methodical approach to the game, feel I'm being rushed. .

piece of cake, go to steam workshop, subscribe to a mod and choose from the start menu of the game which you want to run

I'll probably get the aliens marines, I'm using real names of people I know at the moment trouble is you don't want to get them killed lol which is easier said than done in this game.

The mod are ever growing, True concealment mod looks interesting, basically freezes the clock while your squad are in concealment stage and won't trigger until your team are spotted or initiate a attack. Could well save a few turns you lose while locating enemy patrols. I'm finding I'm losing a lot of time in the concealment ambush then by the time I get to the second group of enemies who usually hang about where the objective I do not have enough time to eliminate then get to the objective be it evac or defusal. Snipers are at huge risk of getting captured due to fact they sit back a little further, I lost my only one on Saturday he was one tile away from evac before the timer run out on an otherwise flawless mission. I think this mod may well be a solution?

yes it sounds good, I am using the mod that effectively doubles the timer, seems to be a good solution for me, I also dropped to easy difficulty as I was getting too frustrated, by next play through will be on a higher level, should be used to it by then, am having much more fun with it now PCGamer also posted some squads to use some are pretty good.

A tremendous amount of mods made by the loyal community now for this game, graphical, audio gameplay, real credit to these guys, worth a wiz on Xcom 2 if you haven't been on it for a while.

I love it, but its my first PC game in years. I'll look at the mods, but I'll probably be lost unless its download this and it will work.
The timer is annoying.

Mods are quite easy to use, all you do is subscribe to a particular mod on steam Xcom community page, steam does all the work, all you do is tick the mod mod when you load the game. Timer is nonsense, can't play tactical with this, forces you to cross your fingers and rush in, lost some good troopers because of this.

Think I've been lucky so far as I've not lost due to the timer (incompetence, yes, timer, no). Will the mods work with my save game or will I have to start again?

Might have to check with the description of the mod, I have successfully added mods and they have worked. I recommend Withnail voice pack, it's a little on the low audio side but it gives me a giggle.
