I'm eyeing up that fence. I want VR but I haven't seen a must-have launch title yet. Same here, I keep telling myself if it isn't for me I can sell it on hopefully for a profit as if any good it could be hard to get hold of leading up to Xmas, but I'm beginning to wonder if I'll be better off on the fence and wait to see how it goes, the rumour that an upgraded ps4 Neo might be required to get the best out of it doesn't bode well either.

I'm keeping the order for now, I've got till early Oct to cancel. But I really want to play Elite Dangerous, and since there's no PS4 release been announced yet, I might have to buy an Xbox 1 to play it on.

Apparently in the US sales of the PC headsets have gone flat after the initial rush of early adapters.

I will make a decision early October I think, I really want to try it out first but demo units are hard to get hold of.

I'll probably make my final decision as late as possible, but it mainly depends on launch titles. DriveClub VR will be a full-priced release, not an addon, so that's ruled out - pretty graphics aside I don't think it was that good a game anyway. I hope the line-up of PS4 driving games improves anyway (VR or not) because that genre on this console has been a big disappointment so far (for me).

I don't know if this counts for the UK as I've only seen American sites making a noise, but they will be getting a demo disc shipped with every VR unit with demos of:-
Driveclub VR PlayStation VR Worlds RIGS Mechanized Combat League Tumble VR Battlezone EVE: Valkyrie Wayward Sky Headmaster
That’s good news if we get it too as I’ve no idea if I want any of them, I’m only curios about Driveclub so the demo will probably be enough to quench that, but I can’t help thinking It’s a lot of money to go “hmmm yes that’s ok that’s nice that’s shit, well ok I’ve seen it done it move on.

The only one in that list I'm interested in is EVE, and that's because it's in space. But it looks like a fast and frantic dogfighter, probably with a heavy pvp element, that will probably get stale fast.
Edit: I can't see EVE retail pre-orders anywhere, and I've looked on two different sites, so that might be digital only anyway. Which means it'll be 50 smackers, so that's me out.
DriveClub should be bundled with the hardware. It's a 2-year old game from a different viewpoint, and the headset would be a more attractive proposition if the game came with it.

Not strictly true the VR tracks have been especially made for VR with and you will love this… Less detail along with fancy lighting removed*, those tracks will be free to those with the standard game so you can race with your buddies, but and you will like this even more…. VR can only be VR on the new VR tracks, you can however still play the other tracks but only in fekin large screen mode*. *Disclaimer, the above might turn out to complete bollocks as I remember reading it a while ago and can’t be bothered to find a link, also I’m getting old and my memory isn’t what it used to be.

That's it I'm staying on the fence. That fence is starting to get crowded. It might topple over lol. You'll probably be able to see what you'll get for your hard earned money tonight at 8pm on the playstation meeting. They'll probably have news whether the neo is required for vr.

I'm pretty sure that VR demo linked earlier was on one of the existing tracks - but it makes sense that they've had some sort of graphical makeover/downgrade to cater for differences in resolution. Either way it still isn't a new game, and because it's already well known, it would have made sense to bundle it in.
I really want this to succeed, I'm just reticent now about getting in at the start. That's now only half because of the launch line up. It's a matter of budgeting for me - I've just bought a bike, and have a preorder in for the new Xbox 1S which is out in a couple of weeks, plus Elite Dangerous and Forza Horizon 3. So I don't really need another console.
Depending on what Sony announce later today, of course.
