In light of my recent attack I was wondering what protection you guys were using?
Do you have mal ware protection?
Anti virus?
Do you regularly change your passwords?
How do you keep your system safe? Are you sure it is safe?

Free AVAST software, use the firewall on my router and change passwords every 6 months or so, never had any issues *touch wood*

I use malwarebytes. It's never failed to stop a malware attack. Passwords are all different on everything I use and I never click any links in emails.

I have bt infinity Internet which comes with mcfee I believe which has anti virus and firewall yet that still failed to protect me. I'm using a trial program of malwarebytes at the moment 20 quid for years sub if I decide to go with it.
Keith what's the catch with avast how can they do it for free?

The one and only time I've ever had an infected pc was when it was 'protected' by McAfee. I'd decided to shell out for a full-price product and a week later I got trojaned. I put it right with a freebie called Spybot, then demanded (and got) a full refund from McAfee. I wouldn't use them now if they paid me. I'm currently using Zone Alarm for everything - a paid package, but I only bought it because it was a good offer. I've had no problems, and before this I'd used Zone Alarm's free firewall with no issues, and for anti-virus I'd used Avast for years. No problems with that - just chugs along nicely in the background, doing its job and not slowing things down.

Avira is also another great all in one for home users. I used to use it and it didn't bother you all the time with pop ups. It's £30 for pro version I think. I might go back to it. Perfect score in tests. www.av-test.org
