Just a bit of fun here folks,
So what was it? I'm sure must of us remember vinyls and cassettes.
Here's mine the specials "ghost town" 1981 7inch single.

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours I think, or maybe Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms (showing my age there)

Michael Jackson Thriller, on tape. I had a midi hi-fi with turntable but I never bought any vinyl, I always used to buy tapes right up until I got a CD player. I used to play my parents records, so the turntable did get some use.
Ironically I started collecting vinyl recently!

Think it was Elkie Brooks on vinyl, she had such a gorgeous warming voice.

My first 45 record was one I didn't buy. It was the theme for E.T. which was free with a newspaper if I remember. The first record I bought was either Michael Jackson's Thriler or Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I use to play it loud and it annoyed the neighbours. :-) It's most rememberable for being banned on top of the pops until they let them play it on the Christmas special.
