Anyone here in the Premium Beta??
If you ever played Elite and want a bit of nostalgia then I definitely recommend getting it, the flight model is hard but fair and very realistic, the amount you can travel is amazing.
I can see myself sinking lots of hours into it when it is released.
If you have or will be getting it put your cmdr name below and will try to meet in game when possible.
Keith.

Used to love the old elite frontier on Atari st I think I had it on. Setting up trade routes buying freighters, very immersive time consuming game but a lot of fun.

If they announce any friend keys I will let you know, if you liked the old one you will love the new one, worth watching some you tube videos on the new beta.

So I have got my beta key for E: D. The problem is I don't have a PC! I have a mac which is a couple of years old, but I couldn't resist backing the kickstarter as I loved the original.
I will have to install a VM so I can have a play!

It's supposed to be coming out on MAC as well.
You might find it difficult to play newer games on a virtual machine, you'd be better off installing Windows on bootcamp if you've got the hard drive space. It does mean buying windows though, mind you windows 7 is only about £60-70 on amazon now. The best virtual machine software on the MAC is Parallels it costs £50, you still need a copy of Windows and support only lasts a year. So bootcamp would be the better and cheaper option.

Keith that looks a cracking game, ive been watching one of your archived streams. I bet it needs a beast of a machine to run it on.

Beta is out tomorrow and the last chance to buy the expansion pass. Just dropped £85 on it and ordered a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X joystick from Amazon which is currently cheaper at £28.66. I hope this is going to be everything I hoped for but from what I've seen from Keith's and other videos its going to be spectacular. This game I would buy a Oculus rift for.

I will record some gameplay too. I tried some combat and its tricky with a mouse. I am thinking of going for a head tracker edtracker.org.uk/ for immersion and easier control of the side panels plus its a lot cheaper than TrackIR. Its home made by some of the Elite forum community. If your good with a soldering iron you can even assemble it yourself for less cost. Here's a video of it in action www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4hyMbHpl18 I'm also interested in voice control software www.voiceattack.com so it would be possible to play without using the keyboard at all. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZEINHinsdc
Have you tried any of these?
