The soundbar is a real classy bit of kit not a cheap give away, if anyone can still get the deal I can't recommend it enough.

I thought I'd end up with the KS8000, it wasn't until the price drop and news of LG's update redusing the lag that I gave it any consideration, then I saw them both next to each other and it became a no brainier.
The down side is my lad has his mates around to watch Rogue One, something that's never even been contemplated before.

Well, I bought a Samsung 7000 way back in March (after glowing reviews from journalists who obviously accepted bribes) and it got replaced within a month because of a panel defect. Two tv men have just left telling me I now need an entire new screen in the second one. So that one lasted all of 7 months. Needless to say I wouldn't recommend Samsung tellies right now - I had one a few years ago and it died completely after 2 years. I asked Johnny Lewis if I could swap it for a different one, but the terms of the guarantee dictate that they'll try to repair first. If they can't, they'll replace. And if they can't replace, we talk about options.
Apart from the resolution increase it isn't as good a set as the Panasonic plasma it replaced. Right now I'd happily send it back and pay extra for an OLED, but I asked the telly man if they're all they're cracked up to be. He said he personally wouldn't buy one, and apart from anything else they make your house windows fall out.

And there I was blaming the putty eating mice.
I had a lot misgivings before getting one as if I was to believe all that I read it was a lottery to wether you got a good screen or not, but after living with it for several months I've no regrets. Though for me it was a big jump in quality going from a standard HD32" to an oled 55"

Well, you smug OLED-owning bastards, I am now one of you. Put that in your pipes and smoke it.
I am impressed.

Nothing’s changed in my opinion I’m still blown away by the quality, I watched the cinematic version of Blade Runner the other night it was like seeing it again with fresh eyes, I had never noticed the vibrancy and colour in the city scape scenes before.
So now you have a new telly you’ll need a console to give FH4 & RDR2 the treatment they deserves.

Good lad, which one did you buy? Just the LG B7. I'd looked at the E7 with the soundbar but am sticking with my surround setup for now, it still sounds great to me. I'd have paid a bit more for a Sony though, but of the 4 HDMIs only 2 support full HDR - one has a weird tilty screen, and the other has shit gaming lag. So the B7 was the only choice really.
I christened it with Blade Runner - great as it looked though, it's a while since I watched the blu so I couldn't say how much of an upgrade it looked. Hopped onto Destiny though for the weeklies, and the difference was unmistakeable from the first screen. In fact I was surprised how much better it was. I can start wading through my small pile of 4k discs now.
