Just order a 3ds XL with a animal crossing house game only 159 quid from Amazon for my daughter for Christmas, quite a good price considering everywhere I looked they are like 200 quid. Only downside is they don't supply a proper charger so had to fork out another 7 quid for that strange I thought. Probably grab mario cart too later,.
Any other recommendations for girls games?
I'll turn her into a gamer.

My daughter (aged 9) plays Mario Kart and Pokemon (Alpha Sapphire) mainly.
One game that gets a lot of use is one from the original DS called 42 all time classics. It is a load of card games and the like. It was really cheap at the time, but has been played for hours.
Super Mario Bros is another favourite. You should be able to get a load cheaply.
My daughter isn't really into the girlie games, so no idea about the house /cat /dog games you can get...

She likes racing games so I'm sure Mario carts will fit the bill. It arrived today at least it's small and easy to hide.
