Hi all- I played for a few hours on my own. I played all the Old Russia story levels plus three rounds of Conquest. I have a few questions that I'm hoping others can answer:
1. When viewing my friends list within the game how can I tell what each player is doing within the game? How can I see this person is playing Conquest or this other player is doing old Russsia Story Level 2. This kind of thing is usually standard in online games (it was at least on Xbox Live, I'm playing on PS4 now).
2. Leading on from that. If I join a fire team or someone's session and they are doing a story level for a planet that I haven't unlocked yet what happens? Can I play it?
3. On the Set Destination map it tells me "x friends are here" when looking at the different parts of Old Russia. If I start that area/level will it automatically try and join me and that friend together in a session like GTA online does?
4. Are most people playing the story levels on their own or are you playing with friends who conveniently are at the same level as you.
Cheers

Hi all- I played for a few hours on my own. I played all the Old Russia story levels plus three rounds of Conquest. I have a few questions that I'm hoping others can answer: I will do my best others can probably answer better though 1. When viewing my friends list within the game how can I tell what each player is doing within the game? How can I see this person is playing Conquest or this other player is doing old Russsia Story Level 2. This kind of thing is usually standard in online games (it was at least on Xbox Live, I'm playing on PS4 now). I think it states where they are in the game, it does in the friends section in the home PS4 screen anyway and on the app.2. Leading on from that. If I join a fire team or someone's session and they are doing a story level for a planet that I haven't unlocked yet what happens? Can I play it? I joined someone the other night who was doing a quest I had not done, I started half way through and completed the quest with him. if that helps3. On the Set Destination map it tells me "x friends are here" when looking at the different parts of Old Russia. If I start that area/level will it automatically try and join me and that friend together in a session like GTA online does? No it does not, you will need to find them and join them by pressing R3 i think.4. Are most people playing the story levels on their own or are you playing with friends who conveniently are at the same level as you. I played the first few on my own but when got to lvl4 joined up with someone, I think the first few lvls should be done on your own to get a feel for the game, just mu opinion though. K

Wow brilliant thanks Keith. That clarifies a lot. One more question- on the destiny app it says I am part of the "group" gamers evolved. Is that the same as the clan?
Gamers Evolved doesn't appear on my tag above my psn name.

I'll just confirm what Keith said on the first question, to see what friends are up to, at any point hit options you will see your gardion then go all the way left, you'll now see a list of who's on, hover cursor over someones name, hit X it will now tell you where they are and who they are playing with.

Gamers Evolved doesn't appear on my tag above my psn name. You may need to quit and then re-join, that normally works BTW if you see me online feel free to join my fireteam at the mooment though I will be pottering around the tower as I don't have time to play properly until Saturday, so if I don't reply that will be why

Sounds like you are signed into the group, not sure if you can join the clan from the app, on a pc sign into bungie.net find our group, there will be an option to join the ps4 clan, then I think one of the admins will need to approve you.

You're a member of the group but you need to go to bungie.net on a pc and set it as your playstation clan (as retro said above) for the tag to show up in game. You don't need further admin approval tho, once you're in the group you can join, leave and rejoin the clan at will.

Great just did that - went to the website, searched for the clan/group then clicked "Set Playstation Group". Cheers all.

I also played up to level 6 on my own. Need some help with the last Earth strike mission. Anyone can come in to help me if they wish. Need to rank up for Tuesday as the high level raids come online. I started a thread on this subject in the Destiny section.
