I have enjoyed this game and playing with you guys is a lot of fun. For me I thrive on the story in my games and my interest for this game is starting to wane. I will probably play Destiny a couple of times a week and pick up and play another game in my list for the stories. I got my warlock to level 20 but unfortunately I do not have any interest to start again with another character. However now I am a high level pvp is good espically control.

Well as it turns out my boots needed one more upgrade and then ping lvl 22. So I get it now it’s all about armour and those light points, you get armour with light points, upgrade the armour that adds more light points, it doesn’t show on the stat but the yellow level progress bar will move up, if you un-equip or change to a piece of armour with lower light then the progress bar will go down. Am I right in guessing one piece of purple armour could jump you up a level in one go?

The maximum light level you can reach on blue items is 15
Purple items start with a light level of 18 and I think can be upgraded to a maximum of 30 (raid grear only)*
Gold items start with (i dont actually know as i dont have any but i think they start with 20) and can have a max of 30
some players have hit level 30 with their 3 purple and one gold armour items fully upgraded giving them a total of 120 light.
I think most of those values are correct but i might be out a little, but yeah just picking up a purple item might just bump you to the next level.
*Edit looks like normal purple gear only goes to 27, you need gear rewarded from the raid to go to 30.

What have you guys been doing once the story has ended. I have done some crucible and strike missions but not been lucky with the loot. Anyone need some weapon parts?

I've mainly been levelling a hunter, since I don't pvp and there usually aren't enough chums online to do a strike with.

For weapon parts just visit the magic cave, you should get enough greens to salvage before to long, As for what I’ve been doing since we finished the story, about the same as you also with not much luck, and been put off strikes since the bore-fest that is the final moon boss. Talk about lack of imagination! hide shoot hide shoot hide shoot and rinse and repeat until your fingers fall off! editthis one!

@ Retro I have enough weapon parts thanks. I have not done many strikes as not been on a lot recently. Family been selfish and watching x-factor in living room instead of upstairs in the bedroom.

I’m going to broach the subject of setting up a second tv in the living room tonight… Wish me luck.

It's times like this that I'm glad I haven't reproduced.

I do feel a little short changed by destiny, the story is over and all too soon and already received an e-mail from bungie telling me to reserve my expansion copy.

Well, I did a couple of the Queen's bounties to find that I'm 4 levels too low to do the mission. Been 20 almost a week now and haven't advanced. Even been cave-farming out of sheer desperation. The plan now is to get the hunter to 20 then go play something else.
Current frame of mind: Fuck you, Bungie.

Hmm. I was expecting my naughty word to be blipped out. Isn't there a sweary filter here? The swear filter isn't switched on, I might have to ban you instead! Mind you there are worse things being said online, the internet is brimming with Destiny hatred!

I'm surprised by the amount of Destiny hate. I'm still loving it. It's still expanding and far from over, I suspect. I think people are already taking for granted what it does that hasn't been done before, which is this seemless, connected world with the typical Bungie Polish. Nope, no hate from this corner. I think it's great!
