Not sure if this has already been mentioned on here, probably has.. But omni virtual reality looks like an amazing piece of kit. Looks like a real answer to the way to put real movement into a virtual reality world while keeping the space needed to a small confined area. I saw a gadget show episode a few years ago where they made something similar but on a massive scale 360 screen and a huge multi directional rolling floor, but why the tech looked amazing it represented no use due to size and space needed plus the 100's thousand quid it needed to buy it. Here is it in action linkIt doesn't have any moving parts as it relies on low friction surface walking area and supplied shoes. Price I think is under 500 usd which is not bad, however you do need oculus rift which is also a few hundred quid. Virtual reality moving in the right direction? Do we need it? Do we want it?

I've no time for gadgets that have you spazzing about on the floor in front of the telly. Gaming is what sofas are for, and if I have to move anything more than my fingers I'm not interested.
Virtual reality on the other hand, I can't wait for, as long as it's something lightweight and comfy that you just pop over your face. I've wanted it since I first played Driller in the 80s and I almost can't believe that with the affordable processing power available today that someone hasn't perfected it AND got it out on the market. Okay, this might involve moving your head about a bit but at least you don't have to get off the sofa and have an epileptic fit on the carpet to play yer games. Sony's Morpheus had better bleeding work - ideally with No Man's Sky.
