So, I'm probably one of about 20 in the UK, but on Friday my Playstation TV turned up.
For those who don't know about it, it is basically a vita without a screen that you can plug into a TV with a HDMI cable, and using a ps3 or ps4 controller you can play (some) vita games on it. The added ability (and the reason I bought it) is that you can remote play the ps4 on it. It basically streams the ps4 screen to the Playstation TV.
I had forgotten I had ordered it before the dispatch email, but it arrived on Friday evening, 10 minutes before some friends came over. Typically this meant I had just enough time to set it up on Friday, but not enough time to play.
Saturday evening I briefly tried it out, and it is ok. Connection to the ps4 is not straight forward as it doesn't turn the ps4 on, but when the ps4 is turned on our connects and shows me what the ps4 is displaying.
I tried a few games while setup to use WiFi (PS4 wired to router, playstation TV on WiFi). Drive Club was too laggy to get a decent time. The small percentage you get in that game wasn't enough. Destiny was playable with my new character, but PvP would be a blood bath. Abe's oddysee was very playable, and The Golf Club was very good.
After patching in the kitchen so it was wired on both legs, the lag is greatly reduced. I wouldn't do PvP destiny, but I think drive club is playable.
I haven't played a visa game on it yet. I did download Stardust Delta, only to find it isn't compatible. When I get a chance I'll give another game a go.
However I am very pleased with the fact I can sit in the kitchen while my kids command the lounge TV and my wife lies in bed watching TV, I can now game!
My second destiny character will be flying through the levels!

I have been looking at this for a while and couldn't make my mind up on it, instead I picked up a vita last week and use that for any remote play as I find it really good.

How much was your Vita Ian? I would be tempted but only at a low price.

Edd, Any chance you could check to see if any of the tv streaming services work when doing remote from PS4, BBCiplayer, Netflix etc.. Ta. If it works I can see myself getting one.

How much was your Vita Ian? I would be tempted but only at a low price. It was 149.99 with memory card and 6 game pack, but traded in fifa and a couple of other things to get the price down, it was very much an impulse buy but I really enjoy using it and glad I got it.

Got to watch those impulse buys, a couple of weeks ago I bought a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet because it does remote play with a D4... On hindsight could have bought another PS4 for the price... Doh!

I love my vita, but I commute, so I get 90 minutes of trophy whoring a day.
For remote play, the screen is a little too small for my old eyes, but the playstation TV is obviously on the TV.
I'll check when I get in to see if Netflix and the rest work on it.

Thanks Edd, was wondering as I know the vita blocks Netflix when doing remote play, but that could be a licence thing as the Netflix app hasn't been released over here.

I'm interested in this. I would love to be able to remote play on any TV in the house.

So, I have tried Netflix and BBC iPlayer and both are blocked on the Playstation TV. It comes up with a proper message saying blocked, rather than just not working.
It is a shame, but it definitely looks deliberate, rather than a bug or simply not working.
I accidentally bought the external battery pack for my Vita too ... a total of 10 hours trophy whoring gaming now between plug sockets!

Ahw never mind thanks for trying, I never could understand why the Netflix app is't avalible on the Vita over here, when Sony tablets & consoles have it. " Accidentally bought the external battery pack for my Vita too" Yeah right tell that to the misses.

A quick update.
In my original post I mentioned it refused to turn on remotely. After 5 minutes of tinkering last night I turned on the ability on the ps4 and now it works!
Loving the kit!
