What do you guys think the future holds for the vita? There seems to be a lack of AAA titles in the pipeline, indie games seem to make up the bulk of the releases in the foreseeable future. Are people happy to play indie games or do Sony need to push the boat out in trying to get major developer support? Or is it going to be relegated to simply being an accessory for the PS4?
I personally think it’s a good piece of kit it’s just a shame about the lack of major titles.

I have been toying with getting one for a while but cannot justify it at the moment, I think the remote play has saved it personally. stories around that it is out of stock most places to.

I use mine for remote at mainly. But cross buy games are awesome. What AAA games are out there for vita are brilliant. Tearaway is one of the best games I've played this year. There is something about it that is so fun. I justified my vita because I had just become a dad. So handheld was only way I can get any decent gaming in.
As for the future I think AAA is a tough one, they won't sell the numbers they need to justify big budget games. However the vita does have an amazing attach rate. I think it's into double figures so people are making money from games on it. I reckon we will see a lot of the more mid-tier games be released on it that seem to have moved away from the consoles recently. Some of which may end up being the next big sleeper hit

To me it's a wonderful indie game playing machine (olliolli is brilliant). Given the price this makes it a luxury product for playing games that look like they are out of the snes era.
I use the remote play when my girlfriend is using the main tv, but whilst the technology is amazing in the eyes of my small brain, the controls feel less responsive. It's not the funnest way to play PS4 games.
It's a great toy, but hard to justify as a purchase.

I find the remote play a bit fiddly, especially if any of the controls are tied into the rear touchpad.

The problem with the vita is the developers are not profiting from there releases. Mobile games are cheaper and easier to develop for and profitable so they are looking to that platform. I have only played a handful of decent games on it. The remote play is great if you can't play on your big tv, but why would you play on it otherwise if you can. That said I have enjoyed final fantasy x hd again. It actually looks and plays better than the ps2 version but being portable is why you buy it for a vita.
I hope Sony develops new games for it as the same stuff they keep churning out is plain boring.

Hey everyone am thinking about getting vita and was just wondering if it's worth it or would I just be wasting my money It really depends on what you want to use it for. Are there occasions when you want to play a PS4 game but can't use the T.V? The remote play becomes a useful option if that's the case. Do you like indie games? There are plenty of those available on the store. There are also a number of good bigger budget games available, Tearaway and Football Manager 2014 are two recent examples. Also HD remakes such as Final Fantasy X come out for the Vita as well as the PS3. Unfortunately AAA title support is lacking and from what I can gather that's unlikely to change. The remote play alone is enough of a reason for some people to take the plunge, if that doesn't really interest you then I suggest doing some research into the games that are available to see if there's enough of a selection to make it a worthwhile purchase from your point of view. I bought one when it was released, but I like buying new gadgets. "Boys and their toys" as the ladies like to say!

I know this is an old post but felt compelled to put my thoughts in. I think the Vita is a great little machine, and wth the exception of Killzone and Tearaway (both of which are incredible games - especially the latter) I have yet to buy a game for it because of PS Plus. So beyond the initial cost it's a real bargain and great if you commute to work - something I was doing until August where I was playing every day. And if any of you liked Resogun and got that on PS4 (which most owners will have) you'll have another amazing free game to download as it's recently been added as a cross-buy title. I did this last week whilst I was away for a conference and managed to get myself 8th in the world rankings - had to put that in there somewhere.

Nice one, good to see that some are still enjoying it, I have been toying with getting one for ages but just cant justify it as I don't have time to play all the games I already have, maybe when they get sub £100 I may take the plunge
