Exclusion zone, Mars. Get to the point where you stick your ghost in the machine and apply a thick layer of ether seeds. You'll have 2 waves of cabal, the reds and the yellows (with 2 shielded cabal). Make sure to leave at least 1 enemy (ideally one of the shielded cabal, as they give the least glimmer), and kill yourself. Throw yourselves at the feet of the remaining enemy, or (not near the enemy) point your rocket launcher at the floor and shoot. You'll spawn back at the computer. Rinse and repeat.

And for even more glimmer, use resupply codes instead of ether seeds!

Don't be a fool. You can't apply a layer of codes over the body (unless you're a Schofield - from Prison Break). Seeds make a lot more sense (attracts the birds, you see).
But you may be right!!!

Seeds make a lot more sense (attracts the birds, you see). And remember children - sparrows like breadcrumbs and tits like coconuts.

For extra efficiency just run straight out the door when it opens and go past the first bunch of red health mooks. This makes the second ship with the yellows drop in, if you're a smashing titan or bombing warlock you can kill a bunch as they drop out the ship with your super, then mop up the remaining yellows (filling your super up for the next run) and charge back up the hill to get killed by the reds.
The second ship will net you around 460 glimmer, kill some reds as you go back up for a rough 500 each run.
Lastly, I recommend you turn the game sound off and listen to some music, or whale song, or nothing, anything is better than the Cabal trumpet anthem!

If you sprint out as soon as the door opens, go right and climb up to the parapet, you can jump on top of the dropships and perform one of the game's limited dance routines while the cabal fire at you in frustration. This decreases the glimmer farmed, but is of course immensely stylish and makes you look dead cool. Unfortunately nobody else will ever see it, but it's fun riding over the map when the ships zoom off. Until you fall off and get killed.
