So etheric light is on sale at the IB quartermaster - but if you don't do pvp you've been shafted? A big fuck off to Bungie for that one.

Thanks for the offer but to be honest it's not worth it. I've bunged it on a few times since the expansion because I still like shooting things and in that respect the game is still excellent. The HoW story missions are better than the Eris ones (not difficult) but I've run through them on three guardians and I'm tiring of them already. I've lost the will to grind the same maps and missions and strikes over and over again and since I won't be giving much time to it from now on it doesn't really matter whether I max out gear or not. I'll probably log on now and again to do a daily mission, and I might spend some coins at Xur's if he sells stuff I don't have, and I'll definitely carry on hating Bungie for their 'woohoo we're so goddamned AWESOME' attitude... and that's about it.
I won't deny I've had tremendous fun over the months (hundreds of hours' worth) and the GE Destiny community is really what online gaming is all about (that was me gushing there) but for everything I like about the game, there's something I don't, and now there are other games to play. In the words of that towering thespian Vincent Jones in his breakthrough screen role, 'It's been emotional'.
Well, okay, it hasn't been, but I think he never gets the credit he deserves.

I'm not a huge fan of PvP either and I'm very bad at it but it's a lot of fun with the clan and a great collective experience... For me anyway. Getting to rank 3 late on in the week is a good way of getting upgrades, if one can get a good group to tolerate one's poor PvP skills.

Well said pig!
Chris - I've been playing the pvp since the alpha and Iron Banner since the Beta, im not great at it but its definitely been more fun with each new event as more people have joined in. I think we tolerate all levels of pvp skill and thats why its fun, Iron Banner has a pretty fair levelling system and you can get some nice loot without having to play all week.
