An amazing game, nothing revolutionary in the gameplay but such a great story and character development.
Definitely one I'll go back to and replay more than once!

After i played TLOU, i had the games blues for more then 5 months until i found a game that would make me feel close to what TLOU made me felt. Absolutely brilliant game and one of my top 5 games ever.
I plan to replay it one day but i still have the story quite fresh on my mind despite having played it when it came out.

I loved playing it first time through. But I don't think I can do it again. the story won't have the same impact second time around and I never thought the combat / controls were the best either.

I actually played 1/3 of the game on the ps4 on Hard. Maybe its just me but playing it on hard and with the constant fear of dying changed completely the mood of the game for me. On my first playthrough on easy, the game felt like a really mature and somewhat grim experience. I loved the scenaries, the overall production and the actors performance. But when i tried it on hard, the mood of the game changed to a very sad story. I think it was the fact that i started to fear my own death at every corner and because of that i kinda "understand" what humanity really must have felt when it all collapsed. Its hard to explain it better but i just wanted to share it cause i realized it could be a totally diferent experience on a second playthrough.

I thought it was 'go to A, watch cut scene, go to B, watch cut scene, go to C, watch cut scene' - admittedly in well-designed environments, but the 'emotional' story line escaped me, and I found the gameplay quite linear and limited. I chucked in the towel long before the end, which I expect involved somebody dying.

Really? I thought the story was the selling point of the game. It was 100% linear but for once, i tought the game managed perfectly the art of telling a story in a mature way. But of course, i love the post apocaliptic theme, so that might worked better for me.

Well, I'm also not a fan in general of extensive cut scenes or things that are too 'scripty'. I can count on two fingers the games that have had emotional reactions from me, and they were entirely unexpected moments on both counts. My disappointment with this may well have had much to do with the reputation it already had (I didn't play it on PS3), so the emotional side of it was pretty predictable. Plus, I just got bored trudging from A to B. And Americans have this weird thing about beards - they think they're cool. He needed a shave.
