Well those awfully nice people at Simply Games have jolly well popped my copy in the post! Of course with my luck, it'll be Blind Disabled Postman Saturday tomorrow.
After making me wait till release day for DS3, they have redeemed themselves. I'll name something after them.

Not long now to wait, I must admit I am getting a bit hyped and don't care if the reviews are late/not great, I can see myself getting many hours of of it. I have booked the Wednesday evening off with the missus and expect to be online from 7 ish till about midnight, I will set up a chat channel if anyone else playing it wants to join me going to be recording a lot of video as well for YouTube, anyone else fell free to do the same if you can, lets see if we can get a few more subscribers. I've watched some stream of the game from somebody in New York that got the game early from a shop that broke release date. Whats the point of release dates? No he's not he guy who spent a fortune to play it first. Yes I know its going to spoil it abit for the surprise of playing it for the first time, but I've seen so much footage already I don't think watching it will spoil anything. Anyway his experience will be different from mine and I can guarantee it. I won't embed it as some of you don't want it spoiled, but from what I've watched i'm more enthusiastic for the game than I was before I watched it. I can see its one of those games that you just can't put down until you realise its way past your bedtime. If you do want to watch it before it gets taken down. Search for GabeOGaming. I might do a live stream but nobody will be watching as they'll be busy playing it. So I'll probably not.

I'm trying to find an answer to this. Anybody know if you discover something first and you were offline and somebody else uploads the data before you, you don't get the credit or naming privileges. I know its probably incredibly unlikely that someone will start in the same planet or solar system as you but it could happen. I wonder if Hello games has thought of this.

mmm good point Bah, they say it will upload when you go online, but i think if someone gets to it first then it's there's. I think the thing is so damn huge anyway it is unlikely to happen.
Pig, if you get it tomorrow I will be well jealous, most companies delay the delivery until release date in my experience.

Beware and I don't no how much creditability this had but I've just read anyone who has played and then patches will have saves wiped.
Though it's probably a rumour spread by the jealous few.

Servers to be reset on Sunday, I think. I certainly won't be bothered if I lose a day's play in this game. As if it matters one jot!

It been confirmed that the servers will be reset tomorrow by one of the dev's at Hello Games. I'm just going to see what I can do in the game today and play it properly from tomorrow. linkSome enterprising person has made a unofficial companion app for it called NMS ally. It's on Android and I believe on Apple too. I wonder how long this app lasts before Sony and Hello Games take it down.

Don't worry Keith it's worth the wait, believe me.
I've been playing it for over 4 hours and what I've seen so far is amazing. I'm very impressed. Hello Games have delivered on the hype in my opinion.
I've only stayed on my starting planet and there's lots to discover before you go into space.
The interface borrows alot from Destiny so you'll be right at home if you've played it before.
Discovering things on the planet is very addictive and you lose track of time. The sounds and music give the game a great atmosphere.
So that's my first impressions. I didn't have one crash in the time I played. There is a day one update to come which will make it even better. Game of the year as there's nothing like it released this year.
My only complaint and I'm trying to think of one is the field of view could do with a increase. I might buy this game on PC too if it doesn't have any problems.

I tootled around on the starting planet until I could leave, which took a couple of hours I know I could have stayed longer but was eager to get into space. I landed on another planet and had to leave it there. I know that's not even a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg, but so far it's exactly what I've been expecting. I didn't load up and think 'whoa this is brilliant' because the game starts slow and draws you in - as long as you know what you're in for. I'm happy with an exploration game that allows me to do so at my own pace, it's what I was looking forward to.
It goes without saying that it'll get rave reviews, and also a lot of stick because it isn't a fast-paced shooter out of the box. Without giving anything away the planet you start on is a sort of tutorial level in that you have to do certain things in order to leave it. How long you take to do that is up to you, you can go in any direction you want. The radar will always show where your ship is so you don't lose it. I wandered quite happily for ages and could have spent a longer time on the planet without getting bored. The one I'm parked on looks even more interesting.
I'm impressed. It has a feel all its own. It had its hooks in me before I blasted off, but the hooks tightened once I got into space and reached planet 2. I still don't have the galactic map or ability to travel long distances. The engine sound in space is lovely, in fact the soundtrack is top-notch so far. I have no idea what's going to happen next, which is fine by me, and I don't mind having to do it all again when they reset the servers.
Oh, and no deaths for me. Your suit requires constant maintenance but the stuff you need is everywhere. I crunched my knees a few times taking heavy landings, but that's about it. The little sentinel bots took notice when I demolished a few too many trees, but I kept my distance and avoided combat. I suppose you could just wade in and blast everything. I might well try that before the reset, but it's not the way I intend to play. I think I'll save my aggression for the pirates.
