The stacking of trade commodities is definitely a glitch. I now know how it's done. Craft a upgrade on your ship that requires more than one of the trade commodities and then dismantle it. You then get 100 stacks.
I know where your coming from about the game getting a bit samey. It has a great base of a game but that's it. It requires a quest or job board that can give rewards of units or rare items for delivering cargo or taking out pirates. Something along those lines.
The combat is lacking but if you try to get 5 stars then the big sentinel ships come after you. It is like the game is daring you to do those things, but you don't have to.
When they release the next update with base building and owning freighters. It might make it more interesting, but there's so much they could add that could spruce up the gameplay. I'd like to see space buggies for faster travelling around planets.

Hello everyone. Is the game worth buying in your opinion. This was on my list until I read some reviews and depending on the reviewer they either loved it or hated it.

Hello everyone. Is the game worth buying in your opinion. This was on my list until I read some reviews and depending on the reviewer they either loved it or hated it. I'm not going sugar coat this because I bought into the hype. In a word NO. If you like survival, space exploration, inventory management heavy games then go for it. If you can't stand games that crash a few times while playing and you lose some progress then its not worth buying. At the moment the game is unfinished. I don't think they had enough time to test the released game. I blame Sony for ruining this game and Sean Murray/Hello games reputation. I'd wait till all the bugs are fixed and more content is released before you buy if you still fancy it. At the moment its not enjoyable in its current state. I'm just finishing the platinum and then I'll wait for the base building update to see if its worth my time again.

I am still enjoying it, I like the exploration side of things, I have not had one crash and clocked over 30 odd hours so far, admittedly I am dipping in and out while playing other stuff so have not burned myself out.
I would say wait for a price cut then go for it, or get it cheap from ebay ect.

Technical stability seems to be a lottery. I had a few crashes the first couple of days but it's been fine since then. And I'd say I've had my money's worth so don't regret the purchase. And I'm still playing now, even though I know I've probably seen everything the game has to offer. I'm now not bothered about upgrading my ship, and because of that the pressure to go out and make big space bucks is not there any more. I'm down to pure, relaxed exploration, but the downside of that is that I'm sure I won't find anything new now; it's pretty much only 'what will the next planet be like'. I doubt there'll be much longevity in that, so I'll be warping towards the middle a lot more now. I'm still nowhere near it.

I come to the point of seeing everything I know is in the game. There's practically no point on continuing for me. I keep getting already known upgrades. I've stop looking for any new upgrades because I've got them all. Exploring can only be so fun if the planets are starting to look samey.
The only thing to do is follow the rest of the atlas path and reach the centre which I found out is not worth it. I don't want to spoil it and frankly there isn't anything to spoil but all I'll say is you'll be very disappointed. The atlas path is also has nothing special. Keep the atlas stones if your following it and you will find out.
I was sold a lie at a full price game. Everything Sean Murray said would be in the game is not in it or dumbed down. I don't understand why he did not come out and say some of the features he mentioned in interviews are not in the final released version.
I'm really disappointed that it released like this by Sony. I think Sean Murray and Hello Games deserved better than hate they are getting right now.

Just out of curiosity what promised features are missing? As far as I can see it's the game they said it was - then again I didn't watch every Sean Murray interview so it's possible I missed things.

Theres a lot of things that are not in the game that we are playing now that Sean Murray said were in it. You can see it all in one big list on reddit www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/4y1h9i/wheres_the_no_mans_sky_we_were_sold_on_a_big_list/The big ones for me are planets rotating around on its axis and around the star. This is not the case in the game that I can see. The patch notes for 1.03 even says planet rotation effects have been reduced further meaning it was not in the game or turned off. Why say that when its not in the game at all? Large scale space battles were you could take sides with a faction are completely false. It was shown at E3 2015 by Sean but I don't see that in the game either. I've only ever fought a few pirate ships. I've also noticed the large freighters don't actually move when they appear in the system your in but it was shown in one of their promo videos and a freighter that was crashed landed on a planet but thats probably coming in the next update when you can own one. Space ships were supposed to be different classes for different play styles but all I see is cosmetically different looking ships that all handle the same whether big or small, fighter or cargo. They all can get 48 slots so theres no variation in any of the ship types. You were supposed to be able to join and ally with a faction in the game but that doesn't seem to serve any purpose whatsoever. The races in the game don't even do any interaction with each other. You can't ally with any of the races and getting a standing doesn't do anything. All you do is answer correctly to get something, a word or some standing and thats it. The crafting and trading was supposed to be more complex but its been dumbed down and frankly there isn't any point in trading when you can mine stuff in huge amounts and sell for alot more profit than trading. These things Sean said himself were in the game not 4 months ago so what happened to them? I'd say cut from the game to sell to us in DLC. He's recently gone back on his word that all updates would be free. I think Sean is not entirely blameless for the crap he's getting now. He promised alot of features and hyped it up himself but the game we got hasn't delivered what he said would be in the game. Who knows if they ever will be now. I've gave the game a chance and I thought I would see those features if I played further but now none of them has materialised. I've put up with all the game crashes and glitches because I actually liked playing it believing there was more to see but its just too unstable to be enjoyable with a umpteenth crash last night. I am going to give it one last chance after the update with base building and freighters, but if it still crashes I think I'll stop playing it and trade it in if it still has any value by then.

Thanks, Bahamut. I hadn't realised what was missing. But to be fair to Murray, he does have a terrific beard.
I did actually warp into the middle of a space battle, so they do happen. Unfortunately I had an ill-equipped ship - it was before I'd died - and I decided to play safe by reversing out of the fight. I'm still playing, but that's partly because I can't decide what to play instead. I'll just say the dlc had better be free. I know there's patch 1.06 due imminently for PS4 which is claimed to address 90% of the crash issues. I've been lucky in that respect as it hasn't been a problem for me, must be about 2 weeks since I had a crash.
Edit: Elite Dangerous looks more my thing. 18 quintillion planets is meaningless if there's no incentive to visit them.

Shooting either ship or freighters has no consequence. Which is what I was getting at with the E3 2015 demonstration. Its a coincidence that you mention it but I was playing Elite Dangerous last night. I recommend it if you've got a PC and want a deep space simulator experience. Space ships to be honest play much better with a joystick and throttle setup plus voice commands with voice attack software. You can also play it with a occulus rift if you can afford one.

I'm still playing but probably have considerable less hours than u lot, I've just sussed that multi tool items can be stacked but it looks like they have to be connected to each other for the best effect, so I'm attempting to make the ultimate Sentinel buster with mega explosive honing grenades, while still being able to mine fast, not that Sentinels have been a problem just that one shotting the nosey buggers is more fun. As for crashing so far I've only had one.

I didn't know the new Elite was on Xbox, someone should have shouted about that earlier, I may give it a go seeing as there's an xbox1 sitting unused in a bedroom somewhere.
