I remember the first two with Mel Gibson and the giro pilot they were big hits when I was a youngster, we must if worn out the vhs tapes. For me max 1 and 2 were the only to worthy, and yes it had terrible acting, laughable one liners but these are the things that made.
"A quick fella....might have a weapon under there, I'd have to pin his head to the panel" giro pilots one of my favourite moments
I'm really not a fan of remakes, especially if I have cherished the original.

Trainspotting - I had never seen it before to which my missus was shocked. So we jumped on Amazon prime and watched it.
It's a very good film but it is horrible. I proper felt like I needed a shower after watching it. Really conveyed how shitty I imagine drug addiction can be.

It Follows
Do not know why this is so highly rated.half decent soundtrack copied from Carpenter/Vangelis.Generic tripe of a film.

Well that's what happens when you buy a fillum you haven't heard of.
Thought it very un-generic meself, and undoubtedly better than anything Carpenter's done in decades.

Watched 'Fury' at the weekend. Its a pretty good WW2 submarine film but its about a submarine what can go on land so its like different and more better than all the other WW2 submarine films you've already seen.

Fury shows the real reason the goddamned Nazis lost the war. Their grenades don't even ruffle your hair. Their snipers shoot you in the head and you just spit the bullets out. The SS are just misunderstood, you know, they don't even have the heart to shoot yanks they find under tanks. No wonder they lost.

Whiplash. Absolutely bloody incensed by this. When the title of a film clearly indicates it's going to be a rollercoaster ride of non-stop auto smashes and neck injuries, the last thing I want to see is some sweaty kid playing jazz drums for nearly two hours. Apart from that, film of the year. Or last year.

The naughty downloads of Mad Max 4 are now available, and I couldn't resist.
Action wise it's a mad rollercoaster ride and although there is obvious cgi enhancement here and there, the action is mostly practical. Much has been said about Charlize Theron stealing the film and that's not quite true; she's good in it and quite restrained. The reason it looks as though she steals it is a sad one - it pains me to report that young Tom Hardy, an actor I like quite a bit, is not only miscast, but he's quite frankly shit in it. It's the worst I've seen him. His lines are mumbled into his chest and he hardly projects any presence at all. Effectively, a film that needs Max in the middle, doesn't.
I'll buy it though to justify watching the download. It's still a blast as an action film, and of course infinitely better than Thunderdome.
