There's a couple of new films on Netflix UK well worth a look. Housebound is a comedy horror from New Zealand - they seemed to have cornered the market in that genre with this and 'What We Do In the Shadows'. Spring is one you want to watch knowing as little as possible about it - starts off as a bloke finding romance on holiday but there's more to it than that. I'd recommend both highly.

Man Up.
Even Simon Pegg doesn't raise this above passable. Mrs Fishkins liked it though, and I did laugh out loud a couple of times.

SPECTRE.
I may be missing the point here really, but what a pile of misogynistic crap. It's far, far too long and whilst the action scenes are spectacular some are pointless. The plot makes little sense and there is not one single strong female character in the whole thing. A massive step backwards from Skyfall and a major disappointment.

Must admit, as a lifelong Bond fan (even when he's crap - with Bond you really have to look at the big picture) I'm not expecting much from Spectre. Mainly because it's from the Skyfall team, and I have mixed feelings about that one. I won't see it till it's released to the home market, since I've given up going to the flicks.

I think it'll be much better at home. Open beer, disengage brain....

I never venture to the cinema now but Bond is Bond so will pick it up on Blu Ray.However Skyfall had way too many flaws to be classed as "classic Bond".

The plot makes little sense and there is not one single strong female character in the whole thing. A massive step backwards from Skyfall and a major disappointment. It telegraphed way too many of the twists which made everything ridiculously predictable. Even for a bond film. Overall I enjoyed it even with its flaws. It was a bit more coherent having binge watched the Daniel Craig movies over the weekend before watching spectre.

I also think Spectre was a step backwards and pointless. Now looking forward to Star Wars

Enjoyed it far more than I should have done.

Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2.
I took my son to see this on Sunday. I now remember why I don't go to the cinema anymore. I sat there while the guy next to me and his girlfriend went through the biggest bag of popcorn the cinema sells, shaking the bag to get the small bits out of the way. Once that was finished they started on a tube of Pringles. I think he got the hint as when he put down the bag of popcorn I cheered.
Why do people pay £8 to see a film and then eat all the way through it.
Film review: It was alright. Pretty predictable, but done well.

I was ill on a couch yesterday and watched Triumph of the Will, a documentary (by and for the goddamned Nazis) about the 1934 Nuremberg Rally. It was really rather good, so I'll probably buy the blu-ray that's out next month.
Edd - I feels yer pain. I had to stop going to the cinema aboot 1.5 decades ago, reluctantly, and for one reason only - other people. It was bad enough with popcorn and hotdogs, but I got out before mobiles properly invaded. I'm not the easy-going fellow I used to be. If I did go to the flicks, and if someone next to me got out a phone, I'd bury it in his head. Sadly, people don't give a toss about other people. I'm alright jack, and screw you.
I do like that Jenny Lawrence.

The new Mission Impossible - best of the franchise I think, Simon Pegg featured a lot more which is always a good thing.
