Mad Max 4(Fury Road).What an absolute waste of 2-3 hours.Shite but sound and vision. Switched it off after 20 minutes. It's dire, which makes all the awards nominations really surprising. Saw Taken 2 and really enjoyed it - obviously ridiculous but just entertaining.

Deadpool. More knob gags than you can shake a stick at. Very thin story (obviously) but hilarious and extremely entertaining. Also, just how hot is Morena Baccarin?

Locke starring Tom Hardy which amounts to proof he has made a shit film.

Even Tom Hardy talking on a phone about concrete for 90 mins is better than Mad Max Fury Road.

Mad Max is not that bad if you take it for what it is, just very tongue in cheek and shot like a very long music video

No, it's not bad on the whole. Hardy is miscast though, and he's fecking awful in it. But as a Welshman talking concrete, he's on top form.

i was talking about the film Buried the other day which only has one protagonist also and comparing it to Locke both are quite similar one actor talking over the phone in a static environment despite Locke filmed in his moving car you rarely leave close up shots.
Spoliers*******************below***********++++++++
In Buried the dreadful situation is conveyed well, the fear of the rescue party not finding him before his air runs out, the fear his phone battery is running out and the difficulty and frustration he has getting his situation across when he makes contact, in short the film worked, the viewers cared about the protagonist and to some point are trapped with him during the film.
Locke a Welsh bloke who pours concrete foundation for a living is driving up the motorway for the birth of his child by a woman he had a one night stand with on the eve of his biggest and greatest concrete pour. The desperation of having to tell his boss he's leaving a drunken Irish bloke in charge for the morning concrete pour, I did I tell you it's the biggest commercial concrete pour ever didn't I? His family are expecting him home for a football match on telly will he make it home?
Tom Hardy is a wonderful actor, great welsh accent too but for me the film was dull and boring and I didn't find myself caring about him his situation nor the concrete pour.

Horses for courses, innit. I learned a lot about concrete and I thought that given the 'undramatic' nature of the story, the script did a grand job of keeping my attention. Buried wasn't bad, but of course a totally different thingy.
If you like fillums that take place in tiny places, check out Room when you get the chance. Brie Larson just won best actress Oscar for it, and I might agree with the Academy on that one. But I arsk you, what kind of person names a daughter after a cheese? Anyway, it's aboot a young woman who's being kept captive in one room, and she has a son who's spent his entire life there. To say any more would be jolly spoilerific, but it's a bloody good fillum.
Of course no tiny-location films list can be complete without the mighty 12 Angry Men, which nearly all takes place in one jury room, and which everyone should see. Mind you, it's a huge space compared to these other films: you could fit Ryan Reynold's box, Tommy's car seat, and Brie's little room in it and still have space for yer bucket of popcorn.

Actually, if you do fancy Room, I'd recommend not watching the trailer. I just did and it gives away everything.

I went to see Deadpool at the cinema yesterday.
I was laughing out loud all the way through. I can see why some people wouldn't like it, but it is up there with Dodge ball for me which cracks me up everytime I watch it.
I did read some reviews on imdb and Amazon when I got back. One guy gave it 1* as he hasn't seen the film, but the trailer has rap music in and be doesn't like rap. Some people are morons. Is there anyway that we can stop people like that being able to comment on things!
