Don’t head of towards a planet without checking you have enough fuel or the mats to make more, I went exploring to kill time while my frigate crew completed a mission, half why there Hyperdrive drops out, had to sit with my finger on the button for 12 minutes, on the plus side the planet has lodes of those relic ball things, so I’m filling my pockets. This game is now miles apart from what I played 2 years ago even if the mechanics are much the same, I’d go as far to say this is now the ultimate space explore game, if they could add some rare planets with civilisation like towns city’s etc as after all there are least 3 other races that have the technology for space flight, then that would be the icing on the cake.

I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this. Got to thank PS4 owners for the 2 year beta. The xbox release is almost perfect.

I had my first death last night, I was shooting sentinels to complete a job, angered them a bit so legged it back to my ship, was a couple of seconds away when I fell down a hole into a cave to my death. Had to laugh, as I think it was me who made the hole in the first place when getting out of the cave as I was too lazy to backtrack to the entrance. I did pop on PS4 last night as I saw Ad on, but by the time it had finished updating he was back to Destiny, I’m assuming nms is running better now after the updates.

It's definitely better but I haven't really looked at the last 3 big updates so couldn't say how much of the improvement is down to the recent one. I've been playing but only in small bursts. I'm following the tutorial thing but it's been a bit of a pain because I'm still stuck resource collecting and I'm having trouble finding stuff. I started in a pretty barren system, luck of the draw. Not that I mind - the most interesting planet was just like the moon. I flew over it for ages scanning and finding nowt, but it was the most 'realistic' planet I've found yet. But I'm currently getting pissed off at the fiddly micro-management - found my first drop pods with suit upgrades but I can't get them without repairing, and I don't have the stuff I need. So it hasn't properly taken off for me yet, though the improvements are obvious.
I'll say this about Hello - in fact I'd award them a gold star even if the game was shit - I looked for this on the PS store and there it was, No Man's Sky, one entry. None of this special, ultimate, gold, nine different editions and season passes and micro-transactions taking consumers for a ride. You buy the game, you get the same one everyone else does.

If you haven’t got to the point in the story that askes if you want to follow the path or do your own thing, then I’d say it’s worth a restart, there is something be said for making do with your lot and soldering on, but if its hampering enjoyment then I’d say get out of there.
My aim is to at least progress to a point where I get a vehicle and drive around harassing wild life, at the moment I’m plodding around just playing half hour here and there but still making progress, not done any multi player yet nether.

I'm frustrated by this, and partly through poor design. I can't get off my starting system until I get some antimatter to craft a warp cell for my hyperdrive - it's part of the story/tutorial. Can't find an antimatter anywhere. I'm flitting from planet to planet hoping the trade terminals get stock in, but no joy. To make it more annoying I found a warp cell in a damaged pod - so I already have the thing I'm supposed to make, but the story won't advance because I haven't yet crafted or found one of its components. I'll soldier on rather than restart, because it's a sign of my strength of character.

I have the materials to craft it, but can't craft it without the blueprint.
Anyway, update: for fuck's sake. Abandoned the mission to make antimatter, and immediately got coordinates for an old building with antimatter in it. Now I can go galactic. It was also surrounded by clusters of those whispering eggs and I just made millions harvesting the little footballs inside them.

Did you like the critters that spawn when you open them?

BTW lookout for s class visor scanners that can be bought for Nanite Clusters in space stations, so far I have one and now get 20.000 units for a new creature, apparently you can chain 3 together for a huge boost in units.

I only noticed this a couple of days ago. I'm getting between 150k and 300k for critters and about 45k for plants. Get bugger all for minerals though.

Did you like the critters that spawn when you open them? I knew about them already, but some crafty wall-building means you can get the footballs in safety, and they sell for over 100,000 each.

Bit annoying this isn't cross platform but I've no regrets about jumping platform, 20 hours in and I've only explored 2 systems.

Looks like they've nerfed money making. I'd just got my farm up and running and was ready to make some serious cash too.
