Yep it grows in real time now, so still grows when offline.
I've not yet progressed to farming.

I've done the atlas path quest, been to the centre, got all the farming recipes, got an s class ship and all the ground vehicles, but I still can't find a vykeen dagger to complete a weapons quest. FU stupid game.

I got to where that space-bloke offers to sell me his freighter, but I didn't have enough change. I hope he's still there when I go back, because I went through a teleport and now I think I'm lost.

Oh. I zapped a few pirates that were attacking me, not a freighter, but there were a couple of them not far off. It immediately popped up as a contact point, so I thought, wahaay, free big ship. The captain said he was a bit cheeesed off with life as a freighter captain and offered to sell me it. I'd have paid what he arsked, I just didn't have enough on me. I was impressed with the size of them, I wasn't expecting it to be bigger than a space station.
Right then... so there's an eccentric captain out there under attack...

I found him, and now have a freighter. My game clock is on about 17 hours and I haven't really done much. Just pottering about is more fun than it used to be, and resource collecting is less of a pain. What space combat I've seen is exactly how I'd have liked Elite Dangerous to be. My main gripe with vanilla NMS was that after a while it became clear that, for a game all about exploring, there really wasn't much to find. I still got about 50 hours out of it though.
I'm not reading round for tips etc and have stumbled across a couple of things I knew nothing about - so that when I'm planet hopping now, I'm aware that I might find something new. That was really what the game used to lack. Haven't properly started base building yet, and know nowt about ground vehicles. Anyone got one?

Have you seen Ace's screenshots? He has a full set, as for me I've only a ship and a fraighter.

Haven't properly started base building yet, and know nowt about ground vehicles. Anyone got one? Without giving anything away, base building has one very handy function, if you find a planet with a useful resource say uranium, slap down a base computer, then a teleport and you'll be able to jump too & frow from space stations and other teleports you've put down, there isn't a limit to the amount of bases you have.

I'm taking a break from the game for a bit. Thinking about starting another base on different planet. I did see a link to thread on reddit where people posted some of theirs. Looks a massive time sink to get anything like them though.

There has been a few updates to this, it looks like some wild life are now aggressive (like they used to be when first launched), which makes resource collecting more interesting, they have added a bike to the vehicles, not got it yet but it looks good, and now once you have built a Geobay and got a vehicle you can use the new Exocraft Summoning Station on any planet and port in any of your vehicles without having to build a base, also vehicle slots have been increased with additional slots for tech like the ships have.
I’m impressed with the way the devs just keep chipping away at this, it’s now turning into a very decent game.

I'll have to have another look. Hats off to the devs. If it was Ubisoft they'd charge you about £5 for a vehicle skin.

I only went on out of curiosity thinking I’ll have a quick look then go back to FH4, but I stayed on for a couple of hours, still loving it.

I've got to do an under water base. I'll have to put a few hours aside one day soon.
